Mixing
and Mastering Packages
When submitting your audio for mixing or mastering, please identify
any special effects or production notes that you wish to hear (mix package
2 and above). A point of reference of which you wish your music to sound
like, or any special effects, is also very good to include. All track
names must be included with the correct spellings for your final music.
*All of our mix packages include free mastering.
Mix Package 1 (basic mix and master)
This package is the straight up, basic mix and master. Your material
will be mixed and mastered appropriately as best we hear and a 16bit/44.1kHz
AIFF will be electronically delivered back to you. We do not make or
allow any changes to be made after we have created this for you.
(£24.99 per song, if there are more than six songs please email
for quote.)
Mix
Package 2
This package is the same as the previous, but includes some extra items.
A mix will be sent to you for feedback and we will allow this to be
done up to three times (which is usually more than enough). We will
also provide you with un-mastered and mastered files if you wish to
take the audio to be mastered elsewhere.
(£39.99 per song, if there are more than six songs please email
for quote.)
Mix
Package 3
The full kit and caboodle! We will work on your music until your happy
and also provide you with un-mastered and mastered files (mastered files
will also come with a 320kbps MP3 for internet use). As a bonus, we
can also provide instrumentals for you to use in promo materials upon
request.
(£49.99 per song, if there are more than six songs please email
for quote.)
Mastering
Package
Our mastering package includes volume, EQ and dynamic adjustment to
make your music fit for public consumption! (Note: this is not a CD
mastering/production service, we cannot provide any type of ‘glass
master’) This will then be delivered back to you for feedback
upon which we can work on. This is done digitally and you will be delivered
a dithered 16bit/44.1kHz file for which you can use on CD’s and
320kbps MP3’s for Internet consumption.
(£14.99 per song, if there are more than six songs, please email
for quote.)
All payments
are made via PayPal for your convinience.
How
do I get this all to you?
Firstly, there are a few things that need doing to make sure everything
goes smoothly. After purchasing your package, please make sure you go
over and read this information.
Label All Tracks: this sounds pretty simple but can
often be overlooked. DO NOT COMBINE TRACKS. If your
engineer used three mics on the kick, send us the three separate mic
channels. Name them, Kick In, Kick Out, Overhead, Hi-Hat, Guitar Mic
so on and so forth.
Bounce/Consolidate All Audio: to get all of the tracks
over to us, the files need to be separated and consolidated so that
we can work on them. You can use the consolidate function in Pro Tools
or Export All Tracks as Audio Files in Logic (if you use a different
DAW please refer to the manual.). Alternatively you can bounce each
file from the very beginning so that all files will line up correctly.
MAKE
SURE THAT YOUR TRACKS ARE NOT CLIPPING. This is usually indicated
by a red light on the mixer within your DAW, ideally channels should
be peaking at around -3.0dB.
You need to make sure that any processing effects are removed whilst
doing this so that we receive a dry audio file. If some effects are
needed and intended, then please send a ‘wet copy’ that
is also labelled correctly. All MIDI instruments and virtual instruments
also need to be bounced as audio files. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT
THEY ARE BOUNCED IN AN UNCOMPRESSED FORMAT. I.e. AIFF or WAV files.
MP3’s are simply not good enough to create good quality mixes.
DO NOT COMBINE TRACKS. I.e. Kick and Snare on the same
audio file. We need to have full control over your audio so that we
can create the best sound possible for your music.
Create a Small Word or Text File: This is needed to
include your email address, band name, song name, links to reference
material, special effects or any other production notes alongside requests
that you wish to point out. Use this to get in all of the information
that our engineer can use to make your mix sound as good as possible
for you.
Zip and Upload Your Tracks: Using Winzip (PC) or Create
Archive (Mac) zip your files into one labelled zip file. If you need
to split the archives, make sure that they are properly labelled with
song name and zip number, I.e. ‘Untitled, Zip 2’.
Then upload
your files to Rapidshare
(for files up to 500mb) or Sendspace
(for files up to 300mb) and email the links to hello@stablehousestudios.co.uk
from here we can download and mix the files.
PLEASE INCLUDE AN EMAIL ADDRESS SO THAT WE CAN SEND FILES BACK
TO YOU. Please make sure that it is spelt correctly, so that
we can communicate with you!
THAT’S IT! YOU’RE DONE! Await your shiny
new piece of music to be delivered back to your email inbox in around
48 hours.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email us @ hello@stablehousestudios.co.uk
